Annapurna Base Camp is located in the north-central part of Nepal, and the trek route to the base camp encompasses peak chains that include Mount Annapurna (8091 m) along with 16 other peaks over 7000 m.

Best Season for the ABC Trek

The months of the spring season are ideal for trekking. Additionally, since it is centered at such a high altitude, weather conditions are extremely variable, but the autumn season has relatively consistent weather.

As a result, autumn is considered to be the best time to go trekking, and early summer could also be considered an appropriate time due to ever-changing climate variations, and before deciding on a trek to Annapurna Base Camp, it is suggested that the considerations.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative from Himalayan trekkers will greet you in Nepalese traditional style and transfer you to your respective hotel. You can stroll around Thamel in the evening if you arrive by evening in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara enjoying the scenic landscapes along the Prithivi highway alongside the Trishuli River. Upon reaching Pokhara you can enjoy boating at Phewa Lake and roam around this city of lakes.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul & Trek to Ulleri

Early in the morning – you will have an hour of a scenic drive towards Nayapul then will start the trek towards Ulleri. After crossing Birethanti, you will follow the streams and reach Tikhe Dhunga. After crossing the suspension bridge, you will have to climb steep stone steps (3500steps) to reach Ulleri. You will have ample opportunities to gain tranquil views of Himchuli and Fishtail on your trail.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani

After breakfast, you gradually move towards Ghorepani. Nature spreads exotic sights of majestic snow-capped mountain peaks, lush vegetation, and rich plant life before you. You can spend some time here capturing photographs and feel the fresh air of the Himalayas. Then, after trekking for some hours, finally – you will find yourself in Ghorepani.

Ghorepani also has pretty good lodges that provide good food and accommodation to travelers. Upon arrival, you can rest for some time and explore the surrounding areas with sunset views of the beautiful Annapurna Ranges.

Day 05: Morning Sunrise hike to Poon Hill & Trek to Tadapani

Early in the morning, you will hike up to PoonHill ( 3210 M Altitude above Sea Level) for sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Poonhill is renowned for the world’s best viewpoint for panoramic views of Dhaulagiri I, the world’s seventh-highest peak, and the tenth-highest Annapurna I peak, Dhaulagiri II, III, Fishtail, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri South, Dhampus Peak, and many other snowcapped peaks. After this – you will have a warm breakfast served by the Pun people – the local ethnic people of this region.

Also, you will get the opportunity to experience the warm hospitality and culture of Pun People. After breakfast, you will leave Ghorepani and walk towards Tadapani. Tadapani is an excellent viewpoint for glimpses of the heavenly sights of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Fishtail.

Day 06: Trek to Chhomrong

After breakfast, you will start your trek to Chomrong. You will trek through terrace farmings and typical village houses, the colorful blooming flowers of the Rhododendron forests make your walk more fascinating. Views of the stunning Annapurna South and Hiunchuli & Fishtail are close to here. Gurung inhabitants reside in this village, surrounded by dense woods with distinct views of the Himalayan ranges. Overnight stay at Chomrong.

Day 07: Trek to Dovan

Today after breakfast, you will start your trek from Chomrong to Dovan. On the way, you will observe the panoramic views of Fishtail from a different angle. After around two hours of walking through the green forest of rhododendron and Bamboo, you will reach a place named ‘Bamboo’. This place is popular for its awesome views of the Annapurna Himalayas, Flora, and Fauna ranges.

The name Bamboo is given due to the high production of Bamboo in this area. You then trek almost an hour to reach Dovan walking through the dense forest. Dovan is a small settlement where people migrated from other places for pure business. So you can see people of different cultures and lifestyles.

Day 08: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp

On this 8th day, after breakfast, we start our trek by gradually walking towards Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC Located at an altitude of 3700 M) following some mesmerizing views of Machhapuchre and Gangapurna facing towards us. After you cross Bagar, you will ascend towards MBC. Moving forward to MBC, you will see the view of Mount Macchapuchre close. Upon reaching the base camp itself, you now can see the charming views of Machhapuchre (Fishtail) and Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and other peaks. Overnight stay at MBC.

Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Hike to Annapurna Base Camp will take about 2 – 3 hours from MBC, you will ascend towards the North West alongside a small ridge branching out from the mountain pass to the mountainside with widespread terraced fields showcasing tranquil pastures. Now, the whole purpose of the trek comes to light as you finally reach the Annapurna Base Camp.

Here you will witness some awesome picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic views of snow-capped peaks like Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Singhachuli, Glaciers, and more peaks with varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massif.

In the evening, you can further trek along to see the popular Annapurna Glacier, and sunset views over the Annapurna Range, including Hiunchuli and other peaks. During the time of heavy snow, it would be great to hike up to Chorten, walking along the snowy trails. There are lots more to cover within this short duration.

Day 10: Trek back to Bamboo

After breakfast, with the sunrise view, you will trek back down to Bamboo passing along the enthralling Annapurna ranges and its surroundings.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda

Today you will trek back to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) via Chhomrong with the view of majestic Himalayan ranges. After arrival in Jhinu Danda (Hill Station), you can relax and be -free while soaking in the Hot Spring. Overnight stay at Jhinu.

Day 12: Trek to Nayapul & Drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, you will descend towards Kyuiwai where you can have an amalgam view of the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. Further, you will be driven back to Pokhara. Evening time strolling around Pokhara and relaxing. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu

We drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara. It takes around 7 hours to reach the Hotel in Kathmandu. Optional We can take a flight of 25 Min to Kathmandu to skip the long drive and traffic for the interested person at an extra cost. We will have some spare time in the evening. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you can meet up and discuss the trip with the Himalayan Trekkers representative. Farewell dinner with be hosted by us at an authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural programs. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu

Today is the final departure and time to say Goodbye. A representative from Himalayan Trekkers will drop you off at the airport at your scheduled time.
